Enrique León just may be a regular guy to others but to me he is my older brother. My brother is tall, with black hair and brown eyes. Though many words could describe him, I think that there is one in particular that stands out, which is awesome. Enrique was seventeen and a senior in High Tech High International. The day of all days in his life that I have been part of I think that his high school graduation is what inspires me the most.
Saturday June 20th 9am. The day of the graduation. Here we all are on the green moist lawn in the middle of High Tech High and High Tech Middle. The sky was gray and gloomy like if it were Halloween night. The mood overall was very overwhelming because everyone knew it was time to let their kids go and explore the world on their own. Once I saw my brother come out of the building to take a seat on the stage I had a flashback from four years ago when he was graduating from the eighth grade. He was once walking out of the door as a boy but now walking out as a man into the real world on his own.
It is time, time for the graduation to start. All you could see on the stage was the board of directors of High Tech High and all the seniors of High Tech High International. This day may be the most scariest yet happiest day of a teenager's life. Scary because they are going to start a whole new life on their own, happy because they are done with high school and off to college. From this point of the ceremony while I was thinking this all the board of directors and part of the students were saying that each one of those students who were graduating that day were pushing themselves to get to that point of their lives and that they did a good job and that they could not also believe that they were once freshman but now the graduating class of 2009.
When that was all over it was time to give the diplomas out to the students. This is the point when all the students and parents start getting emotional because like I say, their baby boy or girl is leaving the coop. I would get emotional because I could not believe that I was seeing with my own two eyes that my brother is graduating and going off to college and pursuing his dream of getting his Masters in Computer/Electrical Engineering and I admire him for this. He had made me, my sister and my parents proud to be the first high school graduate and the first to go to college. Now it is my turn to go through the path of the four years of high school. The time of pain has come to me.
My brother was the last one on his side to get his diploma but then the waiting was over he was now walking the aisle of chances. When I saw him at the podium the same flashback came to me when he was a boy graduating from the eighth grade and now is a man graduating from high school. My brothers words of this whole day were, "It's finally over; it's finally begun".

HERO PROJECT REFLECTiON

I think that someone becomes a hero by just being there for you and being a big part of your life.


The Hero In My Eyes project was a project about writing a story of a specific moment of a person. The person who you are writing about is about a person that is alive and is part of your life and when they had became a hero to you in your eyes.


The process of this project for me was very difficult because i was very behind because i had gotten sick then i had started the project very late than others and then i would not have turned in my drafts so i was way behind than others.


I learned that in order for someone to be a hero they don't have to be like superman or batman they just have to be a hero in your own eyes. the challenges that I encountered was finding and choosing a specific moment of when my brother had become my hero. I think I would keep my moment because I thought it was a powerful and emotional moment. I think this will help me later because maybe in the future i will asked the same question and I will already know the answer.



I think I would have chosen wonder, because I would think that someone would come up to me and ask me why? , why my brother ? why was this day so inspiring to you ?

LiTERARY DEViCES

Catching the signal from one of her friends, Angela brushed her skirt, took a deep breath and walked towards where he was sitting. After the others she was with leave and stays there with one guy. There she goes all brave and mighty then she grabs her skirt and sits very lady like with a graceful pose right in front of him. For a moment there is just silence then they both try to break it with just one word " hey. " Those friends who had "left" were really just a block away just watching them because it was a setup for them to talk , it may had been mean but nice at the same time.

In there minds i think that all can go through was them saying "this was a

piece of cake" even though it is so cliché. Now at these very moments Angela and Juan were socializing and getting to know each other very well but then out of now where Juan just says " your eyes are like the seven seas glistening with the warm sunsets of the beaches."

When Angela had heard this she just got speechless and started to get tears in her eyes with a lot of emotion that is just when they had realized the hidden love between them that they never got to express before until that moment. This may as well is the moment she will say " you are the light of my life ." and they both stared into each other eyes amorously and gave each other a hug like if it the last one in the universe.

GRADUATiON DAY

This was a big day for many teens in San Diego. It was the day when I was graduating from Robert Fulton Elementary. When I woke up that morning at 5 am, I had thought that this was one of the most hectic and chaotic days of my life. Why? Well it was one of the most hectic and chaotic day because when I woke up all I could hear in my head was myself screaming my head off. At this point I was very nervous and turning into a rotating pool of emotions and every other minute I would go to the la la land of thinking. I was going to this place so I could just think how my life was going to be after my graduation.

In the time of my rotating emotions that had been going around like if was uncontrollable. The first emotion that I had to fight off was nervous, this emotion was the one that made me go into a total wreck. I started thinking “oh my god oh my god oh my god” and started getting those chills up your spine like you had just stepped into a cold shower in the middle of winter. I was getting paranoid for no reason but those words just kept on coming coming like the chain mail text messages that everyone despises to send.

When I was going through all of my reckless emotions I started wondering again What is going to happen after this? No one can answer that but then neither can I. When I was always finished spacing out from la la land I would get these shivers up my spine like I have just been out in the cold in Alaska. But when the last time I had spaced out I was thought about walking down the steps the and imagining myself tumbling down, but then I was saying to myself that I was just to paranoid and thinking irrationally.


At the end of the graduation I felt that I accomplished 6 years of elementary school and that I was going to progress in my life. That day was the most special and learned that you cant have everything you want in life. If you wanted something then you are gonna have to work your way to earn it because everything is not going to be just given to you in the palm of your hands. Someone had told me that life is work no matter what and you can not escape from it or give up from it.

It was as if I were in a sea of violins flooding and crowding all over me but then I could just imagine that I was on the titanic next to the string orchestra playing there romantic soft melodies.The way this instrument plays is like if you were in a dream of wonders just prancing by your mind every other day.

THE LOCKER PROBLEM

When me and my group had finished figuring out the answer for the locker problem we had at last said that there were 31 perfect squares in 1,000. There are 31 perfect squares because 31^2 = 961 is the largest that can fit into 1,000. When we were figuring this out we had tried 32^2 but it had came out to be larger than 1,000. When me and my group had saw that only 31 perfect squares could fit into 1,000 we were very impressed.

MY FAVORiTE FiCTiONAL HERO iS A GiRL NAMES MELiNDA SORDiNO FROM A BOOK CALLED SPEAK . THiS GiRL iS ONE OF MY FiCTiONAL HERO BECAUSE iN THiS BOOK THE STORY SOUNDS THAT iT WOULD HAD BEEN BASED ON A GiRL STARTiNG HiGH SCHOOL AS A FRESHMAN AND THAT SHE WAS AN OUTCAST BECAUSE SOMETHiNG HAD OCCURRED DURiNG THEiR SUMMER VACATiON THAT HAD AFFECTED ALL OF HER FRiENDSHiPS TO BE RUiNED. i PUT HER AS MY FiCTiONAL HERO BECAUSE WHEN i WAS READiNG THE BOOK i THOUGHT THAT iT HAD A HUGE iMPACT ON ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAD BEEN GOiNG TO THROUGH THE SAME EXPERiENCE AND HAD SUFFERED A LOT AS WELL. i THOUGHT THAT SHE WAS SPECiAL BECAUSE iN THE END SHE HAD SHOWED EVERYONE THAT SHE WAS RiGHT AND THAT PEOPLE HAD KNOWiNG HER AS AN OUTCAST AND NOT AS HERSELF.
